Events
The PTSA holds several events during the year to build community among staff, students and their families. These events include:
NEW for 2012! ROCK THE WORLD 5K FUN RUN / WALK
All International School students, staff, alumni and families are invited. Join in for fun, exercise and celebrating our 20th anniversary.
5th Grade Barbecue
Each Spring, the 5th graders who will be attending IS in the Fall are invited to a barbecue to meet their future classmates and teachers. They meet their "Buddy" and get their first introduction to life at I.S. at this event.
Pasta Dinner
One of the first events in the Fall is an all-school pasta dinner preceding the first general PTSA meeting of the year. This give parents a chance to meet other parents and hear about events for the upcoming year.
Bite of I.S.
Held in early Spring, this event is a cultural fair of delicious foods provided by I.S. families. Monies raised go to charity.
Senior Class Events
This includes a variety of events around senior projects and Board Day - the day when seniors presents the research paper as part of their senior project. PTSA also supports the baccalaureate and graduation ceremonies.
Staff Appreciation Events
Teachers at IS support learning in a variety of ways and the PTSA strives to recognize this. During staff appreciation week and at several other times of the year such as senior board day and senior project review, the PTSA ensures that meals and treats are available for the staff.
Grad Night Event
Graduating from IS is a significant achievement and the PTSA helps to fund the ceremony and celebration.
